As an author and illustrator, Sara loves to immerse herself in the art of storytelling.
She writes for children and young adults. Her first published book was "Horse on the Loose" which is the first novel in a youth fiction series; The Pinto Mountain Series. The Pinto Mountain Series follows the adventures of two teenagers named Jesse Whitecloud and Danielle Becker in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada. Sara expects that there will be either four or five books in the series. The first two are currently available ("Horse on the Loose" and "Wild Hooves") while the finishing touches are being put on the third one ("New Horizons") which should become available before the beginning of 2012. |
Sara has chosen to feature a different artist's work on the cover of each of her novels in The Pinto Mountain Series because, as an artist herself, she knows the importance of supporting working artists. Plus, she finds it enjoyable to see other artist's takes on her characters.
A new series that Sara is working on, Learning from the Word, which will consist of transitional books for children who are just learning to read 'chapter books'. The first book in this series, "Have You Seen This Dog?", is set to become available to the public in August 2011. Unlike the secular Pinto Mountain Series, this series of books is written to help children learn biblical morals.
Sara has written and illustrated two children's books and already has two more in the works! The first one she published is called "The Night Jayden Saved the Moon" and is about her eldest son, Jayden. The second children's book that Sara wrote and illustrated is called "Unicorn Rainbow", it is a cute little book filled with illustrations of unicorns and explanations of the colours of the rainbow. ![]() You can purchase any of Sara's books online!
