RED HORSE NEWS______________________________ July 2008 - On July the 25th, I'll be making an appearance at the Innisfail Public Library around 4:00 in the afternoon to sign books. - On Saturday, July the 26th, during Red Deer's annual CentreFest street performer's festival, I will be at Gallery IS signing copies of my book from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Please be sure to stop by because not only will I be there, but the gallery is having special artist demos throughout the day as well! June 2008 - The special event at RCS School on June 5th went really well and was a great venue to sell quite a few copies of my book at - so, I am quite pleased. Thank you so much to everyone who worked to put that wonderful event on and thank you to Danielle Bennik and Codi Kreil who were there with me the whole day - quite a memorable day. I don't know if either of them have websites, but you can find Codi Kreil on facebook and on Myspace and listen to her music online there. - The second book of the Pinto Mountain Series is now officially under edit... we've been reading it over and changing things as we go. This book is going to be a big job to edit. For some reason I kept switching writing styles while I was writing it - I think I'm getting antsy to get to my fantasy series that I've been thinking about for the last five or so years. - The painting for the cover of this next book is COMPLETE and I am happy to say that it is wonderful. Thank you so much to Sedat Kaya for his wonderful work on the cover. I love the style of this cover, it reminds me of those old westerns and even the old "Hardy Brothers" book covers... it just has that style to it. Hopefully it'll help attract more boys to these books. - I don't have any other appearances this month but am working with the Red Deer Public Library to set up a big Book Signing Party there in a few months. Hopefully when that is underway you can all make it out! Thanks. May 2008 - A special artist has been commissioned to paint the cover of the next book in the Pinto Mountain Series. He has shown me his conceptual painting and I love it... I can't wait to see what the final looks like. - I finished the manuscript for the second book of the Pinto Mountain Series and we are now starting the editing process. - I have a special assembly at the school I attended as a child on June 5th; featuring Danielle Bennik, Codi Kreil, and myself. The morning assembly is just for the school but that evening there will be a BBQ that is open to everyone. April 2008 - I will be signing copies of "Horse on the Loose" at the Rimbey IDA from 2:00 - 4:00 on April 15th March 2008 - All the Pre-Orders for "Horse on the Loose" have been shipped! - Look for more of my art in the "Flora and Fauna" Exhibit at Gallery IS in downtown Red Deer! February 2008 - We picked up the "Horse on the Loose" books from the Printing Company on February 6th and are now Taking Orders!! The book costs $12.50 per copy, plus Shipping and Handling. If you live in Central Alberta, you can arrange to pick up the book to save on the shipping and handling costs. - Our OFFICIAL BOOK LAUNCH CEREMONY will be on Saturday, February 9th at the Steeves Tea House near Hoadley, Alberta. I will be there to sign any books that you purchase as well as answer any questions you may have about the book or publishing books in general. There will be a few short speeches at 2:00 pm followed by refreshments and visiting, and you will have the opportunity to purchase copies of "Horse on the Loose" as well as copies of Opel Johnson's book that I illustrated, "Saving London". Please come if you are in the area!! January 2008 - Received the Proof from the Printing Company for "Horse on the Loose"... had to tweak a few things, but otherwise we're ready for mass printing! It will not be long now! Copies of the book can be pre-ordered now! The book costs $12.50 each, plus Shipping and Handling. If you order from me, the author, you can even have it signed upon request! December 2007 - "Horse on the Loose" has been sent to the Printers! And we are now taking Pre-Orders! November 2007 - My Art Card Series, "Hello Joshua", has been accepted into the Miniatures Exhibit hosted at Gallery IS. The Art Gallery is located in downtown Red Deer. Please go check it out if you are in the area! October 2007 - Got the website up, still working on a few pages. - "Horse on the Loose" now has an official ISBN and CIP. We're getting closer to being ready to send it off to the printers!
