F.A.Q.

This FAQ is here to help answer any questions you may still have regarding DragonDeities even after reading all the information pages. If your question is not answered on the FAQ page, please do feel free to Private Message or Email it to Tlouey. She will try to get back to you as soon as possible and it may just get added to this page as well.

1) What is a Dragon Deity? Dragon Deity is a term used to describe the spiritual forces or god and goddesses that were created at the beginning of time to govern the five elements of the world that this game takes place in. These 'deities' take on the shapes of dragons when they show themselves to mortals and so we end up calling them Dragon Deities. Because they take the shape of dragons they must have a special bond with the mortal dragons of the earth - which would explain why when each dragon egg is laid one of the five Dragon Deities will bond with that specific egg and be that dragon's guardian for its entire life. The game was named after Dragon Deities.

2) Who started Dragon Deities? Wolfgang Tlouey (Sara Taylor) is credited with the creation and copyright keeper of this game. This game is an offshoot of Interactive Pixels, probably better known as Pixel Ponies. Which is another interactive cyberpet forum-based game where the cyberpets used for the game were originally made pixel by pixel on MS Paint. Another person to credit with the creation of Dragon Deities would be Cydaea who helped shape Tlou's idea into an actual game that we can play. Kylana and Bright Promise were also a big help in the intial creation of the game.

3) Who makes the Pixel Dragons? Wolfgang Tlouey and a few other artist who have offered their abilities for the good of the game, but essentially the artist of the game is Wolfgang Tlouey.

4) Can I modify my dragons (images)? OF COURSE NOT!

5) Can I use any images from Dragon Deities for a cyberpet agency or the layout of a website I want to make? Tlouey's Pixel Dragons are NOT for use outside of Dragon Deities in any way, shape or form. You may NOT go NEAR my dragons... no editing exsisting dragons or dragon bases, no colouring exsisting bases, no use of my dragons in any way to make a layout for your site... don't use my dragons for anything. HANDS OFF! These are MINE! The only time you can use my dragons is during a colouring contest or base editing contest at the forum... and they are not to be posted anywhere other than the forum. That said, its pretty obvious that no you can NOT adopt out my pixel dragons as your own cyberpets and no you can not make a layout using them or any other pixel images involved with the game. See the
Copyright Rules of this website and game for more details.

6) Can I rename my dragons? When their name is on a stat card, their name might as well be set in stone. No, you can not change the name of a dragon once it is on a stat / battle card.

7) How do I become a member of this game? If you really want to play but haven't been formally invited to play Dragon Deities and are you already a member of a cyberpet and or Art forum like the Crystal Palace, Orchard Message Post or my own Picco Forum, you can fill out the application form on the GETTING INVOLVED section of this website and send it to Tlouey. Your information will be reviewed and then presented to the DD population, we will have a vote on whether or not you should be added to our little group of players. Tlouey then will respond to your email and give you the news. For the most part, this is an invitation only game.

8) How do I get an Advanced or Premium Account? You send me money.

9) I can't afford to pay to play! Well, we've done some thinking on this problem because it was also brought up at InteractivePixels. Dragon Deities instead has an account upgrade system instead of a pay to play rule. You can play Dragon Deities as much and for as long as you like without giving Tlouey a cent for her hard work, but at the same time you can upgrade your account to an Advanced or Premium account from your freebie Novice account and reap all the wonderful benefits.

10) If we want to become a paying player, how would we get the money to you? I have paypal, there are paypal buttons on the Getting Involved section of this website right alongside the account types and prices. You could also send me a money order in the mail but if I don't already know you and you want to mail money to me... have fun trying to get me to tell you what my home address is. PayPal is the way to go.

11) What does 'Account Status' mean and what kind of account do I have? There are four main account types; the Novice or Newbie account, the Moderator Novice account, the Advanced Account, and the Premium Account. Your account status would be which of those four types of accounts your account currently is. If you didn't send me any money and you don't do anything but play the game... no helping or anything... then you have a Novice Account (aka Newbie Account).

12) What is the difference between Precious Gems and Dragon Fortune? Precious Gems are our currency here at Dragon Deities and Dragon Fortune is like a bonus or brownie point system that functions sort of like Karma. If you do good things, good things will happen to you. If you have a lot of Good Fortune (Dragon Fortune) then you will have a lot of good things you can do with that good fortune. You can learn about both Precious Gems and Dragon Fortune on the Dragon Records section of this website.

13) If I do not know how to use HTML, could I have someone else help me build my castle website? I don't care who builds your website as long as it follows all the rules of the game. You can ask one of your friends or one of the members of Dragon Deities to help you out but please don't ask me (Tlouey) to build your website for you because I'm already doing enough for you as it is. Teehee... no, because I'm super busy and probably won't have time to make a site for you.

14) I suck at doing anything with graphics, can someone else making my castle from the castle images? Some people at Dragon Deities will offer their artistic abilities in return for precious gems so if you would like to spend a little extra money to get your castle built all pretty you can go looking for one of those artists on DD to build the castle for you. Please don't ask an outsider to make it for you... they'll probably have no idea what you're talking about anyway. Please don't spam the forum with immature complaints about how you can't do anything with graphics and deserve everyone to drop everything they are doing just to make your castle and whatever else you feel like having them make.

15) When editing castle parts to make our Castles, are we allowed to flip the images horizontally? Yes, you can recolour castle parts, you can flip them horizontally, you can overlap images, you can add vines and cracks and interesting things to them like that... but you can not change their size or shape or add other items to them. The base you buy is the base you buy. You may not edit finished images like fields and lakes and such. You can change the colour of your torches, doors and flages, but you may not change them in any other way.

16) What info do we need to put on our dragon's pages? Does my Dragon's Battle Card also go on his page? Each dragon page MUST include his or her name, gender, id number, dragon type, bond-god name, hatch date, pedigree, offspring, training / experience level, event history, all three life stages (when you get them) and battle card. Yes, you must also have your dragon's battle / stat card on his or her webpage.

17) What are the naming rules for our dragons? Yes, the name of your dragon must start with the same letter as his or her bond god.

18) What are the naming rules for Castles and Keeps? You name a castle by calling it "Castle/Home/Kingdom/etc of (a) -verb/adjective- -noun-" for example one could name their website Castle of Flaming Skies or Kingdom of Holy Lands. More info can be found on the Owning a Dragon section of the website. There are no completely specific rules when it comes to naming your Keeps except that each keep MUST be named! And the name of the Keep should match the theme of your castle. The theme of your castle should be made evident by the actual name of your castle... so if my castle's name is Castle of Flaming Skies then my keeps' individual names should have something to do with Flaming Skies.

19) How do dragon stats change over time? A single dragon's actual stats that you will find on his or her stat card will not really change over time... but the bloodline of a dragon will change through breedings. Most of a dragon's stats are inherited from his or her parents and so if you continue to breed high statted dragons to each other the bloodline will continue to get better and better stats through the generations.

20) How do my dragon's stats effect the outcome of an event he or she is entered in? Depending on the event, a dragon with the best stats suited towards the event that he or she is entered in will most likely be the winner but there is also an element of chance when judging events so you can never be sure... but a better statted dragon will have a better chance of winning. Simply put if an event requires a dragon to be fast, the fastest dragon in the event will probably win the event.

21) Can we enter the very prebattle events that we are hosting? You can enter any event that you host except for exhibition events because winners are chosen through the judge and NOT the luck of the draw. The only time you can enter an exhibition show that you are hosting is if the show is being judged by someone other than you, this means you have to actually pay another DD player to judge your event for you. The judge may not have a dragon entered in the exhibition they are judging.

22) How old does a dragon have to be before we can put him in an event? The dragon must be at his or her adult form and must be 'active' to join the event.

23) How old do our dragons have to be before we can breed them? A dragon must be one pixel year (one real month) old to breed.

24) Whats the difference between Inactive and Retired? Retired means that the dragon is too old to breed or compete, inactive means that the dragon has been "put out to pasture" for the year because we only have so much room to train so many dragons at once. Does that help?

25) Can my dragon ever die? They can sometimes not ever hatch from their egg before that egg was sterile... but I wouldn't worry about your dragon ever up and dying on you.

Dragon Deities, a division of Interactive Pixels (Tlou's Pixel Ponies), is a game of pixelated dragons that can battle, breed, and complete quests. Within this game the dragons gain levels, battle, can gain piety and resistance boosts from dragon fortune, and the castles they live in can be built piece by piece by buying castle parts. All ideas and systems used for the game are under copyright © to Sara Taylor (Wolfgang Tlouey) and Dragon Deities; they may not be imitated in any way, shape or form.

Dragon Deities is a pixel cyberpet game which uses a lot of pixel-made images. All images used for Dragon Deities unless otherwise stated are the original artworks of Tlouey (Sara Taylor). Specific aspects of this game involve the alerting of SOME images like castles and castle assecories. Although altering these images is allowed and actually a big part of the game, they are still the original works of Tlouey (Sara Taylor) and should be treated with the respect they deserve. No alteration of these images outside of the boundaries of the set rules for altering them will be permitted. No alteration of any dragons, battle cards or other artworks made for this game will be tolerated, unless otherwise stated. If a player submits some artworks to be used within the confines of this game, those works become the property of Dragon Deities and Sara Taylor. Credit will be given to the artist who submitted them but what happens to these images within the game will not be up to Tlouey's judgement. No images made for Dragon Deities shall be allowed to be used in any way, shape or form for ANYTHING outside of game play.
